22 km, in Kailashpuri village on the main highway road the temple complex of Eklingji is famous for its 108 temples. Eklingji, an incarnation of the Lord Shiva, is the family deity of the Maharanas of Mewar.
The Lord is regarded as the true monarch in whose name the Maharanas governed Mewar. The temple built by Bappa Rawal in 8- century and rebuilt in 15- century by Maharana Raimal features a four faced image of Eklingji in black marble. The complex has carved images of Lord Ganesha, Ambamata, Kalika and shivlings and brackets with the images of celestial nymphs. Outside is a large statue of Bappa Rawal standing beside Nandi – Shiva’s bull.
About 5-6 km from Eklingji, there are about four 14- century Jain Temples at Delwara and the place also boasts an 18-century fort palace-Devi Garh, one of the best known heritage resorts.
